KITZIA SAUCEDA

President

Kitzia is a senior pre-med student majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in neuroscience and chemistry. She aspires to become a physician specializing in surgery. Outside the classroom, she enjoys practicing yoga, painting, and photography. Fun fact: she used to compete professionally as a swimmer and loves hiking with her dog, Laila.

Vice President

Cindy is currently finishing up her degree in Applied Health Sciences. She hopes to become an Emergency Medicine Physician someday. In her free time, she likes to crochet and go on occasional hikes. "I am very excited to be this year’s Future Latinos in Medicine Vice President!"

Katie is a second-year Biological Sciences major on the pre-med track to become an OB-GYN. She loves balancing her science background with creative hobbies, especially nail artistry and the performing arts. She loves to sing mariachi music and perform for her family events!

Sergeant At Arms

Sandra is a Senior majoring in Biological Sciences with a Pre-Professional Concentration and minoring in Neuroscience. They aspire to be an anesthesiologist or forensic pathologist! In their free time, they like to dance, crochet, play piano and cello, games, and watch K-dramas.

Membership Chair

Sasha is excited to be FLM’s new Membership Chair. She is currently a Pre-Nursing student and passionate about helping shape and redefine the way Latinos are represented in medicine and healthcare. While she is still exploring different career paths, becoming a CRNA is currently at the top of my list and something she’s really excited to learn more about :) Outside of school, she loves graphic design, discovering new music, and saying yes to the occasional side quest. "I'm eager to build our FLM community further!"

EDUARDO RAMOS ZÚÑIGA

Community Service Chair

Eduardo is a second-year Biological Sciences major aiming to become a gastroenterologist and earn a PhD to research various GI diseases. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, playing with his pet dog and bird, and going on runs.

Sara is a junior majoring in Comprehensive Medical Imaging, working towards becoming an X-Ray Technologist. Outside of school, she likes to run and workout, paint, hike, and immerse herself in music- her favorite artist being Michael Jackson!

Nathalie is currently a fourth-year General Science major on the pre-med track and aspires to attend medical school to pursue a career as a Trauma Surgeon. She is passionate about expanding opportunities for underrepresented students while fostering an uplifting community! Outside of academics, she values spending time with her loved ones, listening to and playing music, and capturing moments through photography!

Alumni Advisor 

Emily is the alumni advisor for FLM and recently graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor’s in Biology and a minor in Neuroscience and Psychology. She wanted to continue to support FLM by being a mentor and a guide to the executive board and still be a part of the community by helping out and supporting when needed!

DR. ALISON SLOAT

Faculty Advisor

Alison is an Assistant Professor-in-Residence in the College of Sciences. She is the coordinator of SCI 101, the First Year Seminar for students in the College of Sciences. In 2016, she also created Rebel Science Camp, a STEM outreach program for 5th grade students enrolled at Title I elementary schools in the Clark County School District.
