LEONARDO ROMERO

President

Leo is a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Theatre. He plans on becoming a Trauma Surgeon. Leo is passionate about serving the Latinx community in Las Vegas and advocating for equal rights in the community. During his free time he loves collecting vinyl records, painting, and spending time with his family and partner.

IVETTE LOPEZ

Vice President

Ivette is a senior majoring in Biology and aspires to be an OB/GYN physician. Ivette advocates for underserved communities, mentors middle school kids, and volunteers at a non-profit clinic. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, runs 5K races for fun, and spends time with her Mini Poodle, Atzi, and Labrador, Athena.

Emily is a sophomore majoring in Biological Sciences and is pursuing a career as a General Physician. She loves going to concerts and spending time with her cat and loved ones.

Sergeant At Arms

Ariadne is a senior majoring in Psychology. She aspires to be a Physician Assistant working in Allergy and Immunology. She hopes to be able to work with the Latino community to help increase access and visibility to underserved communities. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching sports, and watching movies and TV shows.

JENNIFER MARTINEZ

Membership Chair

Jenni is a sophomore majoring in Biology aspiring to become a pediatrician dedicated to equitable healthcare. As a pediatrician, she hopes to continue her commitment to advocating for health disparities and policy changes. During her free time, she enjoys volunteering, engaging in cultural outreach, watching comedians, and shopping at any of the TJX stores.

LUCERO CUEVAS FERNANDEZ

Community Service Chair

Lucero Cuevas Fernandez graduated in Spring 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She aspires to become an orthopedic doctor in the future. She chose to be Community Service Chair because she is passionate in serving her community in whatever way she can. During her free time she loves staying active outdoors and immersing herself in various medias of art.

KITZIA SAUCEDA-QUINTERA

Kitzia Sauceda-Quintero is a junior majoring in Biology with aspirations of becoming a cardiac surgeon. Driven by a passion for medicine and a commitment to helping others, Kitzia is dedicated to excelling in her studies and gaining the experience needed to achieve her career goals. In her free time, she enjoys painting, photography, sculpture, listening to music, and swimming.

SKYLAR SANDERS-VAZQUEZ

Sky is a senior majoring in Pre-Nursing. She aspires to become a Travel Nurse and is looking forward to working in different departments such as Labor and Delivery and Trauma. Sky hopes to get closer to her Latinx heritage and make a difference in her community. In her free time, Sky enjoys spending time with friends & family, playing video games, and watching movies. 

DR. ALISON SLOAT

Faculty Advisor

Alison is an Assistant Professor-in-Residence in the College of Sciences. She is the coordinator of SCI 101, the First Year Seminar for students in the College of Sciences. In 2016, she also created Rebel Science Camp, a STEM outreach program for 5th grade students enrolled at Title I elementary schools in the Clark County School District.
