About Us    

We are a student organization at UNLV that is committed to serving the community and supporting Latino/a undergraduates interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.

 

We have spoken to 300+ middle school & high school students about the importance of higher education, science-related careers, and shared our insights and experience as first-generation college students.​

At the core of our mission is the importance of compassion, teamwork, responsibility, and duty to our community.

Our objectives are the following:

​

1. To raise awareness amongst first-generation students about medical career options as a career.

2. To serve our underrepresented community in the medical field through direct involvement and outreach services. 

3. To increase the amount of underrepresented health-care professionals in the southern Nevada. 

​

What We Do:

​

• Give presentations for high school students to increase awareness about STEM and healthcare fields

• Offer tutoring services for students in our community

• Serve as Spanish interpreters in health clinics

• Professional school preparation for members

• Offer unique and beneficial volunteer opportunities for our members.

• Provide support and guidance for our members throughout their undergraduate careers
